Thinking
I'm listening to the birds, like I always used to
Their sweet sweet songs, remind me of you
They're happy and they're free, they can fly round the earth
But we're here grounded, searching for our worth
The days are so lonely, the nights are getting colder
Everyday I wake up, each day I'm growing older
I look into the mirror, who's the guy staring back ?
I used to know him, used to like him, I was proud of him way back
<Bridge>
But I can't thinking
Can't help thinking
I can't help thinking
<Chorus>
Everyday I wonder
Why I treated you so good
Looked after you, the best I could
I treated you the way I should
Everyday I wonder
Why you treated me so bad
You left one day when you got mad
I was all alone, you were all I had
I try so hard to stop it, I need to get away
I think of you when I'm at work, I think of you all day
You're always in my thoughts, you're always in my dreams
I try so hard to stop it, obsessed with you it seems
I go to dinner, watch a film, meet up with a friend
I thought this heart could never break, now I know it never mends
I'm moving on with my life now, believe me its true
I don't need you around me, I'll survive without you
[Bridge]
[Chorus]
I'm learning now to live, without you in my life
Tell myself I didn't want you, didn't want you as my wife
I know deep down inside, I'm hurting through and through
But I'd never tell anyone, how much I'm missing you
[Bridge]
<Chorus>
Everyday I wonder
Why I treated you so good
Looked after you, the best I could
I treated you the way I should
Everyday I wonder
Why am I the one to pay
The going got tough, like they say
Just packed your bags and ran away
So everyday I wonder
Why I ever liked you first
Life was good, life was fine
And then the bubble burst
(Spoken)
And then the bubble burst

Author's Comments: This song is about a man who's girlfriend has walked out on him. He is trying to convince himself that he doesn't need her, but secretly he knows he is nothing without her in his life, e.g."I'd never tell anyone, how much I'm missing you". The verses may be played fairly slowly, but the tune would speed up at the bridge, and the chorus would be very fast and heavy, to show the man's frustration.
